How to Advertise On Twitter for Free

How to Advertise On Twitter for Free

Are you looking for a way to advertise on Twitter for free? If you’re a blogger or a newbie, you can easily make a few hundred dollars a month by using Twitter to market your business.

The beauty of Twitter is that it doesn’t cost anything to create a Twitter account. So if you have a Twitter account, you can now start advertising and making money.

There are multiple ways to promote your business on Twitter without spending a dime. In this blog post, we will share with you the best ways to promote your business on Twitter for free.

How Can I Advertise on Twitter for Free?

There are 3 popular ways to promote your offer on Twitter

1) Your Bio

2) A Promotional Tweet

3) Pinned Tweets

Your offer is your product or service. It can be promoted through your website or a third-party site.

Using Your Bio to Promote Your Offer

Here are some tips to effectively use your bio.

1) Write a short description. You can write about the benefits and services you offer. I personally like to include keywords that are related to my offer(s)

2) Add a good profile picture of yourself, your brand, or persona. This is important and it should connect with your overall mission.

3) Add a compelling cover graphic. You can create a graphic for your Twitter bio using Adobe Photoshop or rapid graphics applications like Canva.

4) Add a link to your offer right after your description. Linking from your bio will allow you to monetize your Twitter account. Some people link to one offer and some link to multiple offers from their site, or places like Linktr.ee.

Using a Promotional Tweet to Promote Your Offer

You might have seen tweets that promote a sale, a coupon, a bonus, or the offer directly. These are promo tweets.

Imagine that you follow a Twitter account and because of the value that they provide.

Then a few months later, all they tweet about are products that they're offering.

These are posts with very little substance. The only value that you can gain is if you purchase their offer.

First of all, most people don't like to be sold.

Second, don't use your Twitter account to spam other Twitter accounts.

Using a Pinned Tweet to Promote Your Offer

You can use a promo tweet, then change it to a "pinned tweet." This will keep that tweet at the top of your profile. So if somebody decides to look into your account, they'll see that promo tweet right below your bio.

There are other ways that you can use Twitter to advertise for free, but these are the 3 main ways that I recommend, and they are extremely effective.

These 3 types of promotional methods can lead to sales, and you'll increase the probability of retweets from other Twitter accounts. I'll discuss this later.

Free Twitter Tweets vs Paid Twitter Ads

So why would you want to use free Twitter tweets versus paid Twitter ads?

Of course, paid ads requires money. I've met Twitter marketers that have done well, but don't event own a credit card. In fact, they don't even qualify for one since they're so young.

There can be other reasons why a person doesn't want to pay for ads.

So why use paid ads anyway?

Since this post is all about free advertising on Twitter, I'm not going to discuss this in-depth.

What I can tell you is that paying for ads typically leads to faster results. You're exchanging money for sweat equity (your hard work and time).

If you're going the free route, realize that it's not really free. Here in America, we say that "there's no free lunch." The same thing applied to "free" methods of promoting your offer's. You have to spend your time and take action to see results.

So the next question is, how do I take action and actually promote my business using Twitter?

Just posting an offer link on your bio and a promo tweet won't make you a living. You have to do more.

How Do I Increase My Twitter Followers?

After utilizing those 3 promo methods, your next focus is tweeting to get followers.

First of all, you need to start building your Twitter followers. To do so, you should tweet regularly. There are no magic tricks to build your follower base, but regular tweeting definitely helps.

Start your daily tweets with valuable content with some keywords related to your niche.

Some people say that you should use hashtags (words that start with #). My opinion: you do not have to use hashtags. However, keywords are important. You can reach a bigger audience by adding relevant and valuable keywords to your tweet.

Second, connect with other Twitter accounts that have a similar follower count as yours. When people like or reply to your Tweet, have a conversation with them through a "Reply." This reply looks very similar to a regular tweet, but it will be under your tweet that you're responding to. This is similar to how a thread works.

Third, create Twitter threads. These are longer, with multiple tweets posted as replies. Think about them like blog posts. With each thread reply, keep in mind that there is a character length of 280 characters for each main tweet or reply.

Conclusion

Advertising on Twitter for free can be a great source of income for new and experienced marketers alike. It's one of the most effective ways to reach your target market. In fact, the only thing you need to make it happen is a few hours a week to promote your offer.

Advertising is not a get rich quick scheme, but it can be a steady source of revenue for your online business once you go through the initial learning curve. While you're learning a lot of strategies in this guide, you'll learn even more as you begin your Twitter journey.

With all that said, I still believe that Twitter makes promotions simple. If you can set up a simple account on Twitter, you can start building a profitable business.
